Site excavation and grading in Fort Ann, NY
01 · Site Work

Site Excavation & Grading

The whole site, ready for the next trade. Stripping topsoil, cut and fill, rough grade, final grade and finish — for new builds, additions, garages, barns, commercial pads. We bring the right machine for the lot and we leave the dirt where it's supposed to be.

Foundation excavation
02 · Foundations

Foundation Excavation

Footings, full basements, frost walls, slab prep — dug to spec, square, level and clean. We work with the builder's plan, hit the elevations, and have the hole ready when the forms show up. Backfill, compaction and final grade after the pour.

Land clearing and brush removal
03 · Land Clearing

Land Clearing & Site Prep

Trees down, brush out, stumps pulled, old structures demolished. We open up lots for new construction, expand pasture and tillable land, push back overgrowth on rural roads and reclaim wooded backyards. Chip on site or haul it all away — your call.

Septic system installation
04 · Septic & Water

Septic & Water Lines

New septic systems, tank replacements, leach field installs and repairs — all installed to permit and inspected. Plus water service lines, sewer service lines, well connections, and the trench work that keeps it all flowing. Honest pricing, no surprise inspector callbacks.

Driveway and road base construction
05 · Driveways

Driveways & Road Base

New driveways from rough graded base to crowned, compacted gravel. Driveway regrades, pothole fixes, culvert installs and replacements. Rural roads, shared driveways and long lake-house access drives — built right and built to drain.

Drainage and French drain installation
06 · Drainage

Drainage & French Drains

Wet basements, soggy yards, water pooling against foundations — drainage problems get fixed, not patched. French drains, footing drains, yard drains, dry wells, surface swales and culverts. Built to actually move water away from your home.

Frequently asked

If you're asking, someone else asked it first.

Do you offer free quotes?+

Yes — every quote is free with no obligation. We walk the property with you, talk through the scope, and follow up with a clear written number. If you've got a quote from somewhere else, bring it.

Are you licensed and insured?+

Yes. Lakeshore Excavation LLC is fully licensed and insured. We're happy to send a current certificate of insurance for builders, lenders and homeowners who need it.

Do you work with builders and general contractors?+

Plenty of our work is subcontracted to local builders and GCs — site work, foundations, septic, drainage. We hit the elevations, communicate daily, and keep the schedule moving.

What areas do you serve?+

Fort Ann and the Slate Valley — Castleton, Fair Haven, Wells, Pawlet, Middletown Springs, Rutland in Vermont, plus Granville, Whitehall and the surrounding towns just over the Vermont line. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.

How quickly can you start?+

Depends on the season and the size of the job. Small drainage and driveway work often goes the same week. Bigger site work and foundations get scheduled into the build calendar. We'll give you a real timeline with the quote.

How do I get started?+

Call or text (518) 409-6159, or send a message through the contact page. Tell us the project, the address, and the rough timeline — we'll set up the on-site quote from there.
